“Geoism” is a term that I use to describe the style of my work. My paintings have a wide range of textures created by sculpting earthen materials and using native dyes whenever possible. I also use a wide range of other media to express the textures needed to capture geologic concepts and the beauty of nature.

A painting in this series "Peyote Bluff Rivers" is in the permanent collection of "The Nesbitt Gallery" at the University of Oklahoma, Arts and Sciences. The series of paintings is a representation of a river that formed on a glacier near Peyote Lake in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. I find most of my inspiration for painting in geology; this river system represents what is known as a braided river system. Braided rivers change very quickly with channels shifting forming new islands giving a new overall configuration. Much like life these types of rivers change moment to moment.
