"Flat Irons" is a 20”X 24” painting inspired by the mountain faces in Boulder Colorado by the same name. The faces of the Flat Irons don’t have a lot of individual features, however are still majestic in nature. The winds as they come down from the Rockies drop over the Flat Irons and have been measured at over 100 mph. The contrast between the mountains and the city in Boulder has always fascinated me, I felt that a minimalist approach best conveyed the juxtaposition of the nature and city coming meeting.
