“Peyote Bluff Glacier”

Triptych - Free Bird                     $2,300.00

This set is of two 20”X10” and a 20”X26” that is a representation of a river that formed on a glacier system, near Peyote Lake in Banff National Park of the Canadian Rockies. A similar painting in this series is hanging in the "Nesbitt Gallery's" permanent collection at the University of Oklahoma, Arts and Science. I find a lot of my inspiration for painting in geology; this river system represents what is known as a braided river system. Braided rivers change configuration very quickly with channels shifting forming new islands and channels daily, much like life, they are constantly changing, with little hope of predicting there next shape. This iteration of the series is augmented by the adding of color in the islands that resemble a bird, much like looking for designs in cloud formations.
